Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I understand your concern and would explain that your symptoms could be related to different possible causes: a panic attack or cardiac arrhythmia.

Thyroid dysfunction (especially considering the fact that you suffer from Hashimoto) could trigger this clinical situation.

Coming to this point, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a careful physical exam and some tests:

-a resting ECG
-complete blood count for anemia
- thyroid hormone levels
- blood electrolytes for possible imbalance.

Other tests to consider would be: a cardiac ultrasound and an ambulatory24-48 hours ECG monitoring to examine your heart rhythm trends for a prolonged time and exclude possible cardiac arrhythmia.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues!

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
