Can Contraceptive Pills Cause Constipation, Bloating, Fatigue And Dizziness?

default
Posted on Thu, 11 Dec 2014
Question: Hello.
I stopped birth control about 3 weeks ago because i was getting really bad side effects. Just now i started to get constipated and bloated, tired, and a little faint. Could this be because the birth control is still in my system? How long until its out and the side effects will completely stop? How can i stop the bloating? I also have pretty bad diet that i am trying to change. I eat a lot of chicken tenders, fries, hamburgers, pasta and things like that.

The symptoms that you are having now is not related to the birth control pills, it is because of your irregular food habits. Here is what you should do

1. Tab Omeprazole to be taken twice daily before food for a week followed by once a day for a week
2. Try to eat regularly , smaller meals 4 to 5 times a day rather than 3 heavy meals is ideal for you
3. Avoid milk, milk products , caffeine and alcohol
4. Avoid smoking
5. Get a minimum of 6 hours of sleep, do not go to bed immediately after dinner

Brief Answer:
Gastritis can cause weakness

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for getting back

Acute gastritis and pain can cause jittery hands and feet. I suggest you to follow the instructions given in my previous post, if the limbs continue to shake I recommend you to approach a general physician for a clinical examination and investigations of electrolytes , low potassium and calcium can also cause these symptoms

Brief Answer:
Constipation

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for getting back

It looks like you have constipation. It could be because of less water intake or because of less fibre content in the food. Here is what you should do

1. Drink atleast 3 litres of water in a day
2. Add lots of fibre to the diet in the form of fruits and vegetables
3. Syp Lactulose 10 ml twice daily will help you in passing stools

I hope I was of help
