Can Colimex Drop Usage Cause Restlessness, Slurred Speech And Blurred Vision?

Question: I gave 10 ml of colimex drops to my 3.5 yes daughter an since then she is restless,having problem in speech,blurred vision,saying imaginary things.after that in the morning she said she had pain in her ear, so I gave her 5 ml crocin with 5 ml tixilix syrup, so that she could sleep.pls advice how and when these side effects will go away an dal so is there any permanent damage possible. She is sleeping since 8.30 am

Brief Answer: No antidote, no permanent damage Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for writingto health care magic. Usual dose is maximum of 1ml. 10ml is definitely high. But do not worry. Your daughter will recover soon. Usually the fever and ear pain should settle with crocin. Do not repeat any further dose of colimax. It doesn't cause any serious side effects apart from vomiting and diarrhoea. If that happens ensure you give her plenty of oral electral to drink. There is no antidote but your kid will recover soon. Ensure she drinks plenty of liquids once she wakes up. Always give medicines within the required dose. Never overdose especially with kids since they are affected more than adults. Regards Dr Arun
