Hi
Welcome to HCM.

Content of Benadryl can cause difficulty in urinating, also to certain extent Urinary retention.

It will be better if you explain the problem that you are having so as to provide the proper explanation for that. Also it will be better if mention the pain reliever which you are on.

I have been experiencing episodes about three years ago where I will have an urge to urinate but it always will be small amounts. This situation goes and comes its was never consistent. Then, within the last couple months to a year, I started having hesitancy, where I would sit on the toilet and my urine flow will come out in a small amount very slowly and I would strain. so would stop the process, walk around from a couple minutes them return and the urine will come out strong and fast. About a month ago. I started having episodes where I couldn't urinated at all on my own, and I had to go to the emergency room where I had to use a catheter to urinate. After the emptying of the bladder, ten mins later I was able to go on my own. so the situation took some times to develop, it didn't just happened all at once. The pain medication is just regular pain killer p.m.. sometimes I use both them and benadryl in the same day, not together but four hours apart. also wanted to add that I had an opened book pelvis fracture in the years 2006. don't know if this maybe a contribution.......
