Question: I had a general health test done and it shows enlarged liver (16.7 cm). The report mentiones it is grade 1 fatty lever. I consume alcohol frequently and in considerable quantity. Can abstaining or controlling intake of alcohol reverse the fatty lever

Hi,
By stopping alcohol definitely you can can regain the normal liver ,with that you need to little bit of physical activity in terms of jogging or brisk walking atleast half hour per day or even you can play any game were your whole body is involved .
And diet modification like less oily and fatty food will help do it as fast as possible .

I have already started regular physical activity. How long does is generally take for the effects to reverse. Also do i have to abstain from alcohol totally or can i continue to take in moderation sometimes.

Its better you stop completly because if a person who is alcholic he will never stop with 1 or 2 drinks .
And the changes you can see atleast after 2 to 3 months but better you should continue even its normal in future.

My BP is also high. Its at 100/140. Is it very high or within reasonable limit. What can i do to bring it down without going on medication

If diastolic is 140 then you need treatment but check it again its 100/140?
usually its unlikely to be like that .
if its either way around like 140/100 you can actually try some yoga ,meditation and low salt diet ,but still its persistently high then you need to consult your doctor for proper anti hypertensive.
