I would explain as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I understand your concern and would explain that it is important to evaluate if your symptoms are related to zetia adverse effects.

You should know that this drug can cause muscular weakness and pain, but they may also be non related to zetia.

I recommend consulting with your GP or another ER doctor and perform a physical examination , a resting ECG and some blood lab tests :

- complete blood count
- CPK
- ALT, AST
- HDL
- blood electrolytes
- PCR, sedimentation rate (possible inflammation).

If these tests result abnormal (elevated liver enzymes or muscular enzymes) this would would indicate the relationship between zetia adverse effects and your clinical situation.

In such case the interruption of this treatment would be necessary.

Regarding the values of cholesterol, I would like to have some more information about your blood lipid profile. What are your total cholesterol level and HDL levels.

You should know that total cholesterol/HDL ratio is a more confident indicator than LDL levels regarding your cardio vascular risk.

Hope to have been helpful!

Feel free to ask any other questions, whenever you need!

Greetings!

Brief Answer:
You can stop zetia if you really feel so.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

Your HDL is high which is a protecting factor.

You can stop zetia without any problem if you really need to.

The only side effect will be the increase in cholesterol levels.

Hope to have been helpful!

Best regards!
