Can STD Or Syphilis Be Contracted Through Unprotected Sex?

default
Posted on Wed, 20 Jan 2016
Question: Hi doctor, im a male 27 uncircumcised and have had made a very big mistake.

I had my last full health body medical checkup back in april 2015 and everything came back clean XXXXXXX of health however my only exposure are that I have had twice protected vaginal sex and twice unprotected insertive felatio with two different prostitutes. The last exposure was exactly a month ago. I did not have any major symptoms up to this point of time with the exception of a sore throat a couple of months back but it was completely healed. My major concern here is a single very small pimple looking bump on my penis near to my penis head where it is only visible if i roll the foreskin back. Is this the sign of std? Is this syphillis? I also attached a picture of me penis for your observation.

Brief Answer:
Kindly upload a clear image

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I have gone through your qeury and I have also reviewed the Image. I can make out a single, skin colored bump on underside of penis, however, the image is blurred and not very clear. I request you to kindly upload a clear image so that I am able to guide you better.
Does it have an intact surface?Or is it a sore? Do you have any symptoms like pain?burning sensation etc?

Prima facie this does not look like a syphilitic sore. It seems like either a wart or a molluscum contagiosum.

Nevertheless, in view of your recent sexual encounters you must get yourself screened for all STDs including hsv, syphilis and hiv initially at 4 weeks and then repeat testing at 12 weeks.

Hi doctor,
I hope the new image helps and provide a better clarity.

No symptoms such as burning sensation or pain whatsoever. I also does not have any symptoms such as fever and etc. It does have an intact surface and not very palpable and its very hard to feel it because its too small. I only noticed the bump when i was cleaning it. Does wart and molluscum contagiosum easily treated? If so, how? Can any cream over the counter treat this?

I read from other std specialist/cdc that a condom protected sex and insertive felatio are safe or have very little risk, does this still warrant me for any screening in regards of such very low risk exposure?

Thanks.

Doctor, is this XXXXXXX glands? Also, fyi, the pimple dot is actually located on the foreskin. It is only visible if i pulled the foreskin back

Brief Answer:
Does'nt seem like an STD

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Does'nt look like an STD, neither wart or molluscum contagiosum. Certainly not syphilis. It is more likely just a small cyst in the skin, probably of sebaceous gland origin and not related to STD. This is not enlarged tyson's gland; tyson's glands are on either side of the attachment of frenulum.
