Brief Answer:
Mortin can be taken, not an urgent surgery.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.

I'm Dr. Sudhir Kumar,

After going through your query I want to say that meniscus surgery is not an urgent surgery. It is planned surgery. You can wait for a week with no problem. You can very well take mortin (Ibuprofen) for pain relief. Icing and rest also give relief. Torn meniscus surgery is pretty successful surgery. It is done by arthroscopy, so there is no more surgical injury. It needs nearly 2 day stay in hospital and recovery time from surgery is 2-3 weeks .You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it.

Hope I have answered your query.
If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.

Wishing you good health.
Take care.

when I first went to see the doctor I saw the doctors assistant and he told me some people have surgery on Friday and are back to work on Monday but not 100% is that possible.

Brief Answer:
It is possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.

After going through your query and follow up query I want to say that it is possible as there is not more surgical injury. One can go to work with some pain on 3rd day with surgical wound dressed. However sutures will be removed after10-15days as small surgical incisions on skin will take nearly 2weeks to heal.

Hope I have answered your query.
If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer.

Wishing you good health.
Take care.
