Brief Answer:
used for interstitial cystitis

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Hydroxyzine is sometimes used to treat interstitial cystitis. Cystitis is inflammation of the bladder and interstitial cystitis is a long term condition that it associated with episodes of frequency (passing urine frequently), urgency (needing to rush to the bathroom) and pelvic pain.

The exact cause of interstitial cystitis is not known and it is a diagnosis of exclusion. This means in a person who has been experiencing long term problems, the diagnosis is made after other conditions such as infection, have been ruled out.

Antihistamines such as hydroxyzine is one of the medications used for this condition, though they are others.
Some persons may also require surgical therapies, medication injected into the bladder, electrical stimulation

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
