Can Duphaston And Ecosprin Be Taken During Pregnancy?
Question: I am 4 weeks pregnant.LMP is 21st sep 2014.In my 1st pregnancy at 18th week I had IUFD although fetus size that was detected was 13th week only. Reason of miscarriage is not known.Doctor has advised below listed medicine & has advised to get Thrombophilia screen test done now & take heparin injection.Should I start taking heparin injection ? Is it safe to take Duphaston & Ecosprin tablet ?

The tests prescribed to you ate important and mandatory for the obstetric history you have had but starting LMWH is a hasty and over treatment.
Get the tests done and discuss with your treating gynecologist as there are set criteria to start LMWH.
according to international guidelines history of mid- trimester abortion ( as on 18 weeks ) and at least one positive thrombophilia test is required to start LMWH.
Duphaston and ecosprin are safe and should be started as soon as pregnancy is confirmed in patients with bad obstetric history.

I have consulted two gynec & both are saying if Thrombophilia test is done at this stage, it will definately give wrong result.
One Gynec is saying I should start taking Heparin injection right away & other one is saying immediate intake of injection is not required & she will take a call only after seeing the fetus & result of following tests:
TSH,B sugar, Hb A1C, CBC,VDRL,S.BUCG,Homocysteine levels.
