Can Ciprofloxacin Cause Body Tremors And Nausea?

Question: my 86 year old mother inlaw is experiencing full body trembling and nausea. She is also suffering from dementia

patient also has CHF, diabtetes and high BP
Meds currently being taken:
Meloxicam 7.5 mg for back pain
Carvedilol 3.125 Mg (for BP)
Amlodpine Besylat E 5 Mg (for BP)
Tramadol HCL 50 MG (for Back Pain)
Metphormin 500 (for Diabtetes)
Donepezil HCL 5 MG (for Dementia)
Alprazolam 0.5 Mg (for Anxiety)
Meletonin 5 MG (sleep aide)
Baby Aspirin 81 Mg
Ciprofloxacin for UTI (can this cause these side effects??)

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns.

I do not think that the mentioned problems are due to side effects of Ciprofloxacin. Rather, it could be due to electrolyte imbalance which can often be found at her age.. I would insist you to give her ORS (oral rehydration solution) as well as juicy fruits like citrus fruits, and bananas (as they contain plenty of potassium). It would be worthwhile to get the blood sodium, potassium and calcium levels checked.
