Question: I have questions but I don't have the ability to pay you at the moment. My mother has wet macular degeneration and ALSO is getting more and more forgetful mostly short term memory loss. 'Very disconcerting at times. She is 85. Very vital and active. Still cooking and cleaning and doing normal stuff.
With the forgetfulness I decided to buy a bunch of vitamin ect... to boost her brain functioning ect.
Coconut oil
Tumeric
DHA
Ginko Biloba
Choline
B12
BComplex XXXXXXX
Then I started googling if they were blood thinning, since she does has WET macular degeneration.
Can I give her the above list? If this isn't your area of expertise please let me know that as well.
Thank you

Brief Answer:
The mentioned medicines are unlikely to help.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. Let me assure you that multivitamins do not provide any benefits unless there is a specific vitamin deficiency as would be indicated by deficiency symptoms. Wet macular degeneration is a critical scenario and giving the mentioned list is unlikely to help. You might still give it if your heart desires and it will simply get flushed out with urine. The treatment of wet macular degenration includes medicines like:
Bevacizumab (Avastin)
Ranibizumab (Lucentis)
Aflibercept (Eylea)

Let me assure you that the query is within my zone of expertise. Let me know if I could help further.

The question was NOT how to treat wet macular degeneration.

IF you read my question carefully my mother HAS wet macular degeneration and is 85 years old. I would like to give her supplements to support brain function, the list I gave you was a list to help BRAIN function.

the question was would these supplements AFFECT the wet macular degeneration. would it make her eyes worse?

Brief Answer:
Would not have any harmful effect

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the clarification.
You CAN give her supplements. However, THEY WOULD NOT HELP with respect to brain function or anything else.
These supplements ARE UNLIKELY TO AFFECT the wet macular degeneration and are not supposed to make the macular degeneration worse.
