Brief Answer:
Yes, they might recover with time.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to healthcaremagic.
Thanks for your follow up.
When you quit alcohol after years of alcohol abuse, your body recovers slowly. The adverse effects caused by alcohol and drugs on brain, liver, heart, joints, hairs starts recovering. You will simply feel amazing mentally and physically.
However the complete recovery might take years depending on the damage caused by abuse.
Alcohol abuse also causes vitamin B deficiency, especially vitamin B 1. This is required for nervous system. So vitamin B supplements can be advised for you.
If you have quit alcohol and drugs already, its very good decision.
Wish you a very good health. If you have any further questions , I am happy to help you.

Regards,
Dr Paparaja S MBBS MS
