Throbbing Behind Right Eye. Told It Was Due To Sinus In The Corner Of The Eye. Opinion?

Hi there, well my problem seems to be after consulting my eye specialist doctor, about pain in my right eye only at the corner on right side it feels like in the back of the eye, it makes my eye lid feel heavy and closes up at times, I do not have headaches just a throbbing behind eye very irritating, my doctor said I have what`s called sinus behind the eye? So he prescribed two types of eye drops to help, my eye does not close over completely okay, but it is like it feels my eye wants to close up. I had cataract operation 2 year ago, all has been good since, and I wear reading glasses when need to, but I am deaf and I had a bit of trouble understanding exactly afterward what he is on about, as I can only relate sinus problem! usually to deal with nasal, hayfever, or been a drug habit! But I don t take drugs as in like being a junkie! . So it is something that has come about out of the blue with me, I am 65 y/ old, but I have had a sinus problem in my life, but never been told about it being related to the eye? So can you explain a bit just what it is actually, I do not strain my eyes over a computer or game pads okay. I take the eye drops for a couple of weeks I think until bottle is empty. People say to me I suffer bad headaches or migraines, no I don t. But I am a bi-polar schizophrenic. Hope you can follow this, as I don t really know how to say it any other way. The eye doctor did test and this is what he said I have, a sinus in corner of right eye . Thank you doctor for your time, Yours Ted Tranter, Albury Australia.

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
Headache can be caused by a wide range ofproblems. The causes from the eye are uncorrected refractive error, inflammation in the eye. Since you have been examined by ophthalmologist and told no problem in the eyes, the next common cause can be sinus related as told by your doctor.
Since as you have told previous history of allergies this can be the cause for your headache as your doctor is suspecting.
This requires treatment in consultation with ENT doctor.
Because of your age I advice you to rule out other rare causes of headache like raised intra cranial pressure by examination by a physician.

Thank you
