Periods Late, HPT Negative, TSH Normal. Started Bleeding Heavy With Large Clots. Should I Be Concerned?

My period was 4 weeks late (as of Nov. 9) with 5 negative HPT and negative HCG blood test, TSH level came back normal as well as a check for a pituitary adenoma. got my period after 4 weeks (Nov. 13) and bleeding is super heavy with large clots. Up until last month my periods have been VERY regular, never late or irregular (never this many clots). Is this something to be concerned about?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Delayed or irregular period can occur with (1) any emotional stress (2) any physical stress or illness
(3) abnormal thyroid hormone levels but you checked this and it was normal
(4)abnormal prolactin level- this was also normal in your investigations
(5)excess physical activity
(6)inadequate diet
(7)Polycystic ovarian syndrome

If your subsequent periods are normal then you do not need to be concerned.

If you continue to have problems with your periods then you can consider imaging tests to take a look at the uterus.

I hope this helps
