How To Treat Bacterial Vaginiosis?

I have been suffering from bacterial vaginiosis for which my gynecologist prescribed clindamycin hcl, fas3 kit. I suddenly started getting pain in my tail bone especially when I squeeze my butt. Off late, I seem to have developed rectal discomfort and very thin stool. I feel like passing motion frequently but am unable to do so. I am a 40 year old woman with two children in India. Please advise. Thx

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Clindamycin can increase the risk of gastrointestinal infections. The rectal discomfort and pain you are experiencing warrants stool analysis and culture to rule out infection.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal, General & Family Physician
