How Safe Is Taking Leuprolide Acetate ?
Hello Dr, I am 37 years old...i had taken the Leuprolide Acetate 3.75 mg on 3rd of Sept...my question is 1) Is there a chance of pregnancy? 2) How long would my periods be delayed?? i tested negative but still keeping my fingers crossed if there are any chance of pregnancy. Thank you in advance.

Leuprolide acetate is usually used to treat the conditions like endometriosis, fibroid uterus, etc.
1. Usually it is effective, for 1 month period after that if the cause for which you have taken the injection resolves you can try for the pregnancy.
2. Usually after stopping the injection in one or two months, your cycles will get regularize, then you can go for ovulation induction tablets with your doctor's advice and track the ovulation with a follicular study and plan for pregnancy accordingly.
As your pregnancy tests gave negative results, the possibility of pregnancy is very less. If you want to be sure, please go for a blood test for pregnancy. If the serum beta HCG levels shows less than 5 mIU/mL the possibility of pregnancy can be excluded.
