Does Lupron Injection Cause Weakness In Calves And Thighs?

I received 2 Lupron injections July and October, 2011. I feel that I am having possible side effects including weakness in my calves and thighs. My PCP did recent lab work and I had low Hbg (13.1), mildly low RBC (4.14), and mlldly low ABS LYMPH (1.4).

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Lupron is a gonadotropin releasing hormone agonist commonly prescribed to treat prostate cancer, endometriosis, and uterine fibroids.

Based on the history you seem to have developed symptoms suggestive of anemia apparently caused by Lupron. Consult your doctor for further evaluation and also to rule out other causes of anemia.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
