Chest Pain, Taking Zantac, Blood Test Normal, Have IBS

I have been suffering with feeling sick/being sick for the last 5 months i was put on Zantacs as the doctors thought i had acid reflex which worked but then i finished the prescribed time and still felt sick... I went back to the doctor about this and he did blood test and pregnancy tests these came up negative. but over the last week i have been getting chest pains in the middle of my chest and to help settle the sickness feeling as i work i have been taking zantacs off the shelf (half the dose the doctors gave me). I feel like my doctors are not taking me seriously... I am not stressed in any way, i do suffer with IBS but that has calmed down a lot in the last year.

Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.
After reading your post, it seems that your symptoms are due to gastritis.

I would suggest that you should get an Endoscopy done.

I would also advise that you should take an antacid like Omeprazole 40mg once a day before meals along with Domperidone 30mg.

Following precautions will be helpful :-
1.Avoid spicy and oily foods.
2.Avoid being empty stomach for long periods.
3.Avoid mental and emotional stress.
4.Avoid smoking and alcohol, if any.
5.Avoid self medications, especially pain killers and steroids.
6.Drink lots of water daily.
7.Eat light meals prepared under hygienic conditions.
8.Avoid gas producing foods like peas, cabbage, legumes, etc.

I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
