What Is The Reason For High Prolactin Levels In Men?

My husband had elevated levels of prolactin after going in for results of blood work. They want him to have a MRI as a precaution cause this elevation could be a sign of a brain tumor. What are other causes of high prolactin levels? Are there other reasons mens prolactin levels get elevated?

Dear ma'm, Hi! sorry to hear about your husband. high prolactin levels definitely mean two things
1. prolactin secreting tumor - can be managed medically.
2. tumor large enough to cause pituitary stalk compression. needs surgery.
MRI is a must and after that you can go for a decision as to treat medically or surgically.
