What Causes Swollen Ankles And Feet After A Inguinal Hernia Repair?

My husband (75) had inguinal hernia repair Dec 21. His feet & ankles remain quite swollen. He is to see the doc on Thurs. I have been massaging his feet (towards his heart) bid. He has been walking quite a bit through the house. Is this swelling normal? Should we be doing anything else? Thanks

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I really appreciate your concern for your husband looking to the history given here I could say that swelling of leg and ankle of your husband may not be due to the operation, but this could be something else and most near cause would be renal function and that need to be ruled out hope this information helps you take care and have nice day.
I find this answer helpful
