Does Erection Happen After Laroscopic Inguinal Hernia Surgery?

Hi Doctor, I am a guy 38 years old and i had a Laroscopic Inguinal hernia surgery 12 days back. However, for past 1-2days, I keep having erections (like 6-7 times daily) although I am still refraining myself from having sex. May I know does erection itself effects the recovery process i.e. dislodge the mesh or cause inflammation?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Penile erections will not affect the healing or recovery of the inguinal hernia surgery.
In addition, penile erections do not occur as side effect of hernia surgery.
The recovery will take atleast 7-10 days.
The surgical wound needs to be kept sterile and free from infection.
In case of suspicious infection, prompt management needs to be done.

Thanks and take care
