I ATE AN ENTIRE FROZEN CHICKEN FETTUCINNE ENTREE THINKING IT WAS GLUTEN FREE. was violently ill with diarrhea and harsh vomiting all night and half the next day. My neck got stiff (thought I'd slept "wrong.") - had bad headaches (which I never have) and within a week I couldn't touch my head, left temple or hair they were so tender, nor could I walk and saw double, so ended up in the hospital, thinking I was having a stroke. fortunately, the ER doctor was involved in a Mayo clinic study re. Giant Cell Arteritis and he recognized what was wrong. I'm on prednizone. What puzzles me, is that they drs here don't seem to see a correclation between my suddenly huge dose of gluten and my attack. I am a confirmed celiac and do not eat any gluten under any circumstance--but this time, due to the packaging and being in a hurry that night, I did eat the gluten. - I - don't think there's any doubt the gluten triggered the GCA, as well as Polymyalgia Rheumatica and the being sick all week. Do you have any information on this?
