Everything I Eat Tasted Terrible

For about two weeks, everything I eat tasted terrible. Like rotten meat. Sometimes smells set this off too. I have been to the dentist and there is nothing in my mouth that could be causing this. I do not have any symptoms of a sinus infection. I am becoming extremely depressed and worry that this will never go away. What could this possibly be and how can I go about fixing it?

Assuming that your Throat, sinuses and Teeth are normal, and that you are not on any medications, you should see a Gastroenterologist to rule out:
1. GERD (Gastro Esophageal reflux Disease), LPR (Laryngo Pharyngeal reflux) or 'silent' reflux.
2. Barret's Esophagus or Hiatus Hernia.
3. Gall bladder or liver disease.
4. Zollinger Ellison Syndrome.
5. Hypo or Achlorhydria including H. pylori infection.
General & Family Physician Dr. P. Mahesh's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Since you are otherwise healthy, it is more likely to be psychological.
Consult a physician and let him examine you completely and confirm that you are perfectly healthy. Once that is confirmed, you need to consult a psychiatrist and let him evaluate you. Also confirm that you are the only one who finds the meat rotten, while others find it perfectly alright.
Wish you all the best.

Hi well come to HCM.
Looking to your complain two main thing should be ruled out.GERD and some liver
problem like cholycystitis or begining of infective hepatitis. Get done your LFT first
and if normal contact your doctor to rule out Gerd. Thanks
