Wrapped wire around neck. Depressed, face swelling, hear piercing sound, headache. Means? Go to doctor?

I've been really depressed lately & cut a piece of electrical cord & wrapped it around my neck. I felt my temple & face swelling up, things were starting to go black & I heard a piercing sound constantly. I was so scared, I cried & unwrapped it. Ever since I've had a headache - should I go to the doctors? What could this mean?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
welcome to Healthcare Magic.

As you attempted self harm, and from history it appear that you severe depression. Do not loose help, depression is very much treatable condition with psychological treatment and drug treatment. For that you should meet nearby psychiatrist earliest.

Currently you have headache due to venous congestion induced by strangulation. You should tell all the incident to your family members or close friend. You also ventilate your feeling to others which will reduce your stress. In current condition you should also meet general physician to rule out any damage to body and for treatment of headache.

Wish you all the best.
