Would Tricor Cause Side Effects Like Leg Cramping?

I m 61 year old male, starting Tricor tomorrow for high triglycerides....tested this week-were 180 now at 240. I tried Lipitor a few yrs ago and got good results but had to stop due to horrible leg cramping. Is Tricor a similar drug ....seems like leg cramping is a side effect with Tricor also? thank you

Tricor(Fenofibrate) and lipitor(atrovastatin) are two diffrent drugs indicated for hypercholesteremia(increase in blood cholesterol).
Generally lipitor is a well tolerated drug having rare cases of adverse effects like myopathy, as in your case.
Tricor is again well tolerated but rarely incidences of skin rash, muscle ache, nausea, running nose etc abnormal liver test etc.
As per your past history i advice you do a serum CPK test before your start Tricor.
As of now you need not worry & continue Tricor.
