Will There Be Any Side Effects For Withdrawing Febutaz 40?

my blood uric acid is 8.8, right foot is swelled to some extent, getting pain in one of end right foot finger, What should I do. Doctors prescribed me Zycolchin .5 for 10 days followed by Febutaz 40. But on taking Febutaz 40 for 2 days I stopped it for severe headache in night though . I was feeling better and swelling also reduced during taking medicine time. But I am without any medicine for last 5/6 days Please advise

Hello,

There are other options for reducing uric acid levels apart from Febutaz. Since you have used it only for two days there aren't any withdrawal risk, you simply need to take something else to prevent pain recurrence.

Medication like allopurinol or probenecid are two other alternatives which may be tried.

So you should inform your doctor about the side effect you experienced with Febutaz so that he may consider prescribing you another alternative.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
