Will Sinus Rinse With Saline Water Suffice For Post-nasal Drip?
Hi, I suffer from frequent (few times a day) and prolonged (hours) bouts of post nasal drip. The drip mostly occurs in one side of my nasal passage. It feels like a constantly driiping tap on the back of my throat. I am constantly snorting and swallowing to try to clear the drip. I use a sinus rinse with saline water every morning, along with a 60 mg tab of pseudonephrine. Both give me some temporary relief, particularly the pseudonephryn. I have a narrowing in my septum which is on the same side as the passage that drips the most. My Doctor has recommended nasal surgery to open up the narrowing but its unclear to me if (or how) this will alleviate my nasal drip. I have seen an Allergist but I didn't have a reaction to any of the basic initial tests.
It looks like that you are having a sinus infection due to the deviated nasal septum , which is the cause for your post nasal drip!! Once you undergo nasal surgery, the passage will open up and cure the infection in the sinus, thereby reducing your post nasal drip! I would like you to follow your doctors advice and go ahead with the surgery! thanks
