Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have an IVC filter that has been in place for more than a year. My previous hematologist, now retired, said it would be better to leave it alone since it has been there so long. My new hematologist thinks is should probably come out to eliminate future problems. So far, I have experienced no trouble. What would you recommend?

Will Prolonged Use Of IVC Filter Be Safe?
DEAR USER THANKS FOR CONSULTING AT HCM I PROBABLY CONSIDER YOU WERE FITTED WITH VIC FILTERS FOR PREVENTING PULMONARY EMBOLISM AND YOU HAD A CONTRAINDICATION FOR ANTOCOAGULANTS. IF PRESENTLY THERE IS NO CONTRAINDICATION FOR ANTOCOAGULANTS USE, THE IVC FILTER CAN BE SAFELY REMOVED HOPE I HAVE ANSWERED YOUR QUESTION.. YOU CAN MESSAGE ME FOR ANY FURTHER CONCERNS
