Will Drinking Alcohol Be Fatal After Multiple MIs, Emphysema, Frozen Shoulder Surgery?

Age 65yrs, 5ft 5in, 8st 8lb - up from 7st in july, 5 MI's in 18 months, three stents in place, emphysema, removal of polyp from large bowel, frozen shoulder after surgery, intemittent claudication, pins and needles in hands, basal cell carcinoma on temple with reccurrence on nose. Binge drinker.

Will the consumption of alcohol in my present condition shorten my life?

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Currently you are multiple severe respiratory and cardiac problem. Alcohol is a risk factor for exacerbation of these problems and poor recovery. Same time there is risk of poor healing with alcohol, as you got large bowel polyp removed recently.

But most dangerous is risk of aspiration after alcohol binge in current medical condition. So, it is better to avoid alcohol in current condition.
