Will Blood Test Result Of 3.7 Lead To Cardiovascular Risk?
I recently had a blood test for cardiovascular risk, the results were3.7. My dr. wants me to see a cardiologist, but I have never had a heart problem in my life. I try to swim every day for 1 hour to stay healthy. There is no record of heart histry in my family, I am 74. Mickey
Welcome to HCM! I can understand your worry. However, be relaxed. Having a high risk doesn't mean you are having a heart problem.
However, I want you to understand that heart problem need not necessarily be genetic or family related.
Our lifestyle, diet and addictions are among the few factors which play a great role in determining our health. Also, a person having a perfect lifestyle with a health diet and regular exercises may also suffer from a heart problem.
Hence, I would suggest you to visit a cardiologist and get assessed as your blood reports suggest. There is no harm in doing that and will only help you not to worry once no abnormality is seen.
Hope this information helps!
Feel free to ask if you have any doubt.
Wishing you good health!
Regards, Dr. Sridhar Reddy
