Why There Is Pain Under The Ribcage Of The Left Side?

I fell down some stairs about two weeks ago and the next day was bruised up and my back hurt like hell. Four days later when that pain was gone I ve been having sharp pain right under the rib cage on my leftside. Doesn feel like ribs but more so the tissue underneath. Anything you could think of?

Hi,

As you had a fall over the staircase this will be a direct impact to the bone of the rib cage and then the intercostal muscles must have got inflamed.

For a safety side, an x-ray in the AP and the lateral view will be good to see if any hairline fracture is present. also do hot water fermentation, simple breathing exercises while putting the hand over the tender region. this will help the normal respiratory function to be intact and also allow a good healing process.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
