Hi Ronald, Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum.
How often is she passing stools? It is common to experience constipation after any major abdominal surgery due to stress and reduced bowel movements. Do not worry, it is not a a serious issue. Take her to her Surgeon so that she/he can examine her and Prescribe Laxatives. Give her Plenty of Water and Fiber rich foods like Fresh fruits and Green Leafy vegetables. Ask her to move around and walk often, as it will increase the Bowel movements.

for the past couple of weeks I ve experienced changes in bowel movements. I m typically regular every morning. I ve had diarrhea, days where I couldn t go, then a loose stool feeling as though i m not completely evacuating. Before I do have to go, sometimes there is cramping prior to, during and shortly after. Sometimes to the point it s difficult to leave the toilet. I ve been taking a probiotic almost everyday. There are times where the stool is slightly firmer, but seems to regress back. I was in Mexico 4/25 thru 5/1. Everything was normal while I was there, this started a day or so after I returned.I m 51, in my colonoscopy, they did find some diverticulosis.

my mom has had G.I. symptoms for 3 weeks now. her history includes gall baldder removal, scar tissue removal from a hysterectomy, triple CBG, and fatty cirrhosis. after 10 days of vomiting and dirrhea dizziness and vertigo added to the mix and she was admitted to the hosp. after CT w/contrast they decided she either had a partial bowel onbstruction or gastroenteritis. after antibiotics, colonoscopy, endoscopy and barium swallow she is no longer vomiting and diarrhea, but now has not had a bowel movement for 6 days and still has cramping, dizziness and nausea and occasional vertigo. we have been home from the hosp for 3 days because they want to avoid exploratory surg if possible. what have we missed? a recent PET was negative

Hi Sir, I have been suffering from severe stomach pain for the past 4 years. Almost all the procedures were donewhich include endoscopy, ultrasound of all the internal organs and even colonoscopy. No specialist was able to identify wat the problem exactly was so they termed it as IBS(irritable bowel syndrome). Two years ago thepain was so severe that it made an adult male cry. Now its tolerable but it hadnt stopped. And the freqeuncy still remains the same once a month. Why does it come? When it comes i will get some initial sensation that its going to come today. Once the pain starts there is nothing that can stop it for 9-10 hrs. It will get severe and then subside.Currently iam using buscospasm just one tablet when it comes. is there anyway that i can be pain free? People have suggested that it may be due to stress. But believe me i dont feel any stress. i dont have any personal or emotional problems. I am completely healthy otherwise. Please Help.
