Why Is My Granuloma Scab Turning White And Looks Gooey?
I had a granuloma removed from my forehead two days ago. They cauterized it to stop the bleeding. They put bacitracin on it and told me to keep the dressing on for 24 hours and to cover it when I go out and at night. I m concerned because it is turning white and the scab just looks gooey. Is this normal or is it becoming infected? And shouldn t it get air so the scab can dry up and heal?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Yes, this is absolutely normal for the scab to be seen as white and gooey. This will remain so till the tissues under the surface get contracted , healed and pushed the scab out, So just do not worry. It is not yet infected. On infection there will be a frank pus. Air or no air- the scab and the wounds heal on their own, we just assist by giving some medicines and local applications. So do not worry and follow your Doctor's advise .
