Hi, I am diabetic and have let my control lapse for the last year but now trying to get back on top of it. I have noticed my thighs are blue a couple of times recently. I have just been sat on the loo for a few minutes but my thighs where very blue. Have had a shower and dried and the blue nearly gone except for on my knees. Just getting older or signs of some bad circulation to get checked out? Ism 48 and been diabetic 22 years. Used to run up to two years ago but a foot injury has stopped that. A little over weight on the middle, 13 stone. Male. Mark
Normally your thighs wont turn blue in diabetes. but if you have any recent injury or blunt trauma to your thighs you might have echymosis which might cause bluish discolouration of thighs.
Secondly varicose veins of grade 4 incompetance might cause bluish discolouration..
Thanks
