Hi,
The possible causes of your delayed periods and negative urine pregnancy test are:
- Poly cystic
ovarian disease can present with irregular menstrual cycles and
anovulation and sometimes
infertility due reproductive hormonal imbalance and
insulin resistance. So, this could be one possible cause for your delayed periods.
- Sometimes in very early gestation urine pregnancy test kits can give false negative results.
To be sure regarding the pregnancy, please go for a blood test for pregnancy, which can be more accurate results compared with a urine pregnancy test. If
serum beta HCG levels in the blood test at less than 5 mIU/mL, it rules out the possibility of pregnancy.
Beta HCG levels above 5 mIU/mL indicates the positive pregnancy and above 25 mIU/mL confirm the possibility of pregnancy. If the test is negative, you might get your periods soon after that better to take treatment for PCOD for 1 or 2 months then plan for pregnancy to increase the success rate.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
