When Should I See A Doctor If Being Bitten By Horse Fly And The Leg Has Swelling In It Though The Redness Subsided?
I've been bitten by a horse fly and my leg has come up red hot and swollen, I've drawn a line around it to see if swelling has grown and it has but the redness has gone down slightly. There is no sign of infection and I've taken antihistamine and put cream in it but no luck! What stage do you recommend to see a doctor?

Hello, Welcome to HCM As per your history, horse fly bite can be treated with home remedies which include: 1.Placing the ice cube or cool pad to relieve itchiness. 2.Soaking a tea towel in boiling hot salty water and then placing on the bite for as long as possible, 3.I would suggest you to apply hydro-cortisone cream or anti-histamine cream . 4.Oral antihistaminics If you are experiencing any other symptoms such as blistering, swollen glands, extensive wheezing, a high fever, flu like symptoms, or a severe rash within two days of being bitten. You may have an allergic reaction and need to get medical help immediately. Thank you.
