When Can One Start Smoking After Shoulder Surgery?

I had surgery on my right shoulder to repair a torn labrum. It will be one week from surgery on Tuesday. I heard that smirking after surgery can cause blood clots. I smoke cigarets and electronic cigarets (Ecig) My question is when can I smoke my ecig again without blood clots being a concern? And when can I smoke a regular cigarette again? My doctor who did the surgery on me isn t giving me a timetable.

Hi,

Smoking may cause poor wound healing, provoke stroke or myocardial infarction.

Better to discontinue smoking. Otherwise, wait until your wound heals properly.

After that, you may use Nicotex chewing gums for weaning off the condition.

Please consult your doctor, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
