Yes, its possible, but that doesn't make it any less dangerous. If conventional treatment is not getting the results you want, perhaps you should try some alternatives (starting with a second opinion)? Counseling to reduce stress? Acupuncture (yes, it works)? Herbs? A nutritionist (no disrespect to your doctor, but most MDs have only rudimentary nutrition education)? A Naturopath? Keep looking, there is an answer. Good luck!

My blood pressure usually stays regulated with my Benicar HCT, until yesterday. I always take my pill in the mornings. We had a taco dinner at church last night, and by the time I got home my bp had jumped to 170/99. I took another full dose of Benicar because my arm, leg, and face were going numb and my chest was hurting. I went to bed. When I woke up this morning, I took my pill as usual. Now, 1 1/2 hours later, my pressure is still148/94 and I just don t feel right. What is going on?

I was diagnosed with high blood pressure last year after i pushed myself too hard physically, and i ve since been able to come off my meds by dieting and exercising. But i recently did an exercise that was too tough because i thought i could handle it, and the whole day after i felt unusually groggy and my systolic number was about 10 points below normal. Now that i ve recovered somewhat, my resting blood pressure is normal but it goes a bit higher than it should when i m excited or active, sometimes causing loud ringing of the ears or other symptoms. I try light exercises throughout the day but it seems like my heart is getting worn out easily, where i will get a heart rate in the 50 s sometimes or my systolic number will drop to below 110 and then my pr and bp fluxuate a bit higher throughout the day when i become active. I want to know if maybe you had some idea of what could be wrong or how to know when my exercise is too much because in contrast to exercising a fair bit before, now it mainly consists of just my daily activities and if the bar s been lowered that much i m just done. 20 year old male, scared that his new life is already over. 3 months til cardiologist apointment, primary doctor doesnt seem very concerned with my problems.
