I have had migraines since the age of 13, I am now 30, they are worse....I go to a neurologist and he did tests, I have a pseudotumor with much pressure. We do lumbar punctures...oral meds do not work, I have tried them all. I am a teacher and this is affecting my career...help!

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
You are having pseudotumour cerebri.
It is a disease of brain in which there is obstruction in the passage of CSF (cerebro spinal fluid) circulation.
So CSF pressure will rise and it will cause headache.
Frequent lumber puncture is not an option for this disease.
You need to under go ventriculo peritoneal (VP) shunt. This is surgical procedure in which a shunt is placed between ventricles of brain and peritoneal cavity.
So CSF cant easily circulate. This will prevent rise in CSF pressure and thus frequent headache.
So better to consult neurosurgeon and discuss about VP shunt.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
