Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have flutterings and bubble like feelings all over my legs pain after sitting for a while behind and above my knee in one leg, saw my GP last night she seems to think it is siatica as I suffer cronic back pain, she is sending me for a x-ray on my hips? but I am more concerned about my legs. Please advise.
Hi, Low back pain radiating to any thigh , calf , foot may be due to radiculopathy one of which is sciatica . It occurs after long history of sitting on hard surface similar to what you have. It is always advisable to get x ray of lumbo-sacral spine in already anterioposterior and lateral view to rule out any gross bony abnormality. In case of doubt CT scan gives better picture. If neurological sign n symptoms found should be correlated with MRI results. But good thing is that majority needs conservative management with regular physiotherapy, warm compression ,analgesic ,vitamine and lifestyle modification so don't be concern until your reports in your hand n get X ray done.
thanks n regards
