What To Do For The Nausea Caused By Omeprazole Medicine?

I have been taking omeprazole for several years now. My last prescription, same 40 mg as previous ones, was different in color (brown & pink). From the information I found on-line, I concluded that it was a slow-released kind and safe to take. However, since I began ingesting this latest pill (May 13), I have begun to feel quite nauseated and light-headed a good part of the day. Next step should be? Thanks!

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is definitely related to the medication since the symptoms started with the use of this new formulation.

Because of differences in manufacturing techniques and inactive ingredients, the different generic formulations can cause a varied reaction.

Since you cannot tolerate this medication, the best option would be to speak to your doctor and/or pharmacist to let them know about your reaction.
An alternative should be given.

It should be discontinued, if possible, till you can speak to someone.

I hope this helps
