What To Do For High Fever, Burning Eyes And Tiredness During Pregnancy?
im 31 weeks pregnant and have a fever of 102.1 I take Tylenol it goes down to a low grade fever and I am really stuffy and my eyes burn and extremely tired and having some contractions not a lot but this is baby # 3 I called my midwife but she isn't in today is there something else I can do
A low-grade fever could be a hormonal change but a temperature of 102 cannot be easily dismissed, you have not clarified if high rise of temperature is accompanied by chills or shivering. I think blood tests are necessary to rule out infections, also a routine urine test along with microscopy will be needed to assess urinary tract infection, which is common in pregnancy. As for contractions, the uterus is "irritable"from 28 weeks onwards. Try to take some rest, please lie down whenever you feel tightness in the belly. If contractions occur every day, you may require an internal examination by your obstetrician to assess the os or mouth of uterus. There are medicines to stop contractions like tab isoxsuprine taken twice daily but bedrest is a must. I hope you get well soon and be free of fever also
