What To Do For Breathlessness, Wheezing And Stuffy Nose?

I have shortness of breath, wheezing, stuffy nose, im caughing up flem, and my throat is killing me. I went to the hospital last night and they told me that i only have asthma. I think that because it was the first day that it started it was to early for them to tell if it was pneomia. My best friend has it right now and i told her all my symptoms and she thinks i have it too, what do i do? I dont want to go back to the hospital for nothing.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Pneumonia would present with particular symptoms and signs ( particular sounds would be heard on listening to the chest) and on x ray (if needed).

If these signs were not present on examination then pneumonia is not likely at this point.

Viral infection of the upper respiratory tract is a common cause of the symptoms that you are experiencing and would cause the aggravation of your asthma.

You should use your inhalers and other medication as prescribed by your doctor.

The use of medications such as chloroseptic, diflam would help with your sore throat as well as the use of oral pain killers.

If your symptoms worsen then you can see your doctor for re assessment.
I hope this helps
