What To Do For A Goiter?

Hi there. I do appear to have a goiter in that my thyroid is enlarged. I do not have health insurance as I can not afford it. However, as a student I am able to visit the clinic and the on staff physican took a blood sample and my thyroid came back as functioning normally.

I must admit I have consumed a lot of beer over the years. I am quitting drinking and I have eliminated meat, processed foods, soda pop, high-fructose corn syrup and alot of other things from my diet.

I am starting to take a daily multi-vitamin, kelp tablets and a 1000mg of vitamin C daily. I use to not consume salt much. However, I have started to add it to my meals.

Any ideas for me? I appreciate your help. Thank you.

Hello

Thank you for trusting HCM

Dear goitre may be due to food deficiency of iodine , or few people may be developed due to goitrogens. If it is uni nodular goitre means no need for the surgery just test TSH,t3,t4.

If it is multinodular goitre there is 5%chances to become malignancy and with compressive symptoms may need surgery.

Avoid goitrogenic diet like bracolli, cabbage, cauliflower etc..

Take iodine containing food. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care
