Since July I have been experiencing esophogus spasms (very painful) and getting hives (lips, arms, legs, torso...where ever they want to show up)...I had blood work for allergies which came back fine...next step add l allergy testing...I am also thinking about trying a histamine free diet...website say hive reasons go undetected many times...any other steps I should try???

Hi, I would suggest you to go for a patch test if you have not done so far.

Also esophageal spasms are not commonly seen with allergies. it can be due to some other functional abnormality for which you can have certain medications like calcium channel blockers.

For hives. I would advice you take loratidine and see from there on. Further investigation may be needed in case there is some new diagnostic possibility thought of. Oesophageal manometry or skin biopsy may be useful to see the pathology in detail
I hope this would help
wish you good luck
