What Should The Normal SGPT And SGOT Range Be?
SGOT IS 55 IU/L AGAINST 38 NORMAL RANGE&
SGPT IS 50 IU/L AGAINST40 NORMAL RANGE
IN A LEVER FUNCTION TEST ? ALL OTHER PARAMETERS ARE NORMAL. My son 31 years old is having suspected TB LIKE INFECTION..THERE IS ADRENAL GLAND NOTICED INCIDENTALLY DURING PET/CT SCAN.

Increased SGPT indicates liver injury.It is not alarmingly raised.
SGOT is non specific and it increases in many conditions.
It is important to know routine hemogram,RBS,RFT,lipid profile,viral markers.Ultrasound of abdomen should also be done.
You should take tablet Ursodeoxycholic acid 300 mg twice daily for three months.It will help in regeneration of liver cells.
