What Should I Do For Pain In Sternum Due To Hiccup?
sometimes I will hiccup and burp at the same time and it causes intense pain in my sternum, I get light headed and have passed out very briefly. It happened a few times when I was a teenager and the FP told me it had something to do with my vagal nerve. Is this an actual condition of some sort with a name.
I am so sorry to hear about this chest pain and hiccups. Hiccup is caused by irritation of the vagal nerve. The treatment would be in identifying what the cause of this irritation is an addressing it. In the meantime, pain medications like tylenol can provide relief while the cause of this hiccup is identified and managed well for longterm control.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarification if need be.
