What Is This Red Spot On My Baby ?

Hi I gave birth 2 my twins March 20,2011. One of them was born with a red spot the size of a pea...Now it is the size of a loonie..it is dark red and really raised should I be worried...Thank you

Probably your son has a congenital angiomatous lesion-- most likely strawberry haemangioma. Still it cannot be diagnosed without a proper clinical examination. There are other possibilities also like portwine stain etc. You have not mentioned the site as well. Please get it examined by a Dermatologist. If it is a strawberry haemangioma, simple oral medications will be helpful. Wishing you & your babies best of health.
