Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
So, your father is having relapse of tb with fungal infection and complicated by pneumothorax (air in lungs).
Honestly speaking, this is not a good sign for prognosis.
Pneumothorax in Tb and fungal pneumonia is having poor prognosis.
Healing takes very long time in case of active lung infection. So first give him anti tubercular and anti fungal drugs and try to heal the pneumonia.
He shouldn't keep the tube for at least 1-2 months.
If still not improving after 1-2 months, get done thoracoscopic intervention for pneumothorax.
So consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your father. Thanks.
